Cats aren't sensitive to the adverse effects of THC in the same way that dogs are. THE BEST WAY TO GIVE HEMPRX Feline Drops to your Cat:
Recent research studies have shown that the best absorption of CBD is when it is given with food. Blood levels can increase as much as 5 times when administered with food, as compared to on an empty stomach.
I suggest putting the dosage on a small amount of food. Fatty food is the best, and canned cat food meets those requirements, so that is my suggestion to use a teaspoon of canned cat food to blend the oil into, and the offer that to your cat. Giving this before their morning and evening meals allows them to be hungry and more likely to eat the entire canned food ration with the CBD in it. After they have taken the CBD in the canned food, you can then offer them their morning and evening meals. This way, if they chose to not eat all of their morning or evening meal, they will still get their dose of CBD in food which will increase its blood levels substantially.
Give 2 drops for each 5 pounds of body weight of your pet twice daily as a starting amount.
This amounts to more than 0.5 mg/kg and less than 1.0 mg/kg. (1 kg = 2.2 pounds)
For most animals this seems to work just fine, but for a few who are overweight, or whose conditions are pretty severe, a higher amount may be needed.
Smaller amounts than this have been shown to help, and sometimes, your pet might need a higher dose. It generally takes about 7-14 days for the CBD to reach a "steady state" in your pet's system, so I suggest giving your pet some time (10-14 days) with the initial dose of the HempRx Feline Drops before deciding to increase it.
If your pet responds well to the initial dose, that is great, and after a month or so, you might actually be able to lower the dose and still get the same results.
